Description

The project is co-owned by Andes Mining and Energy and Electricite de France, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel.

The project emitted 60.9t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project got commissioned in January 1997.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Sistema Interconectado Central under a power purchase agreement.
