Chinese solar equipment manufacturer Trina Solar has signed an agreement with Toyo Engineering for supplying 116MW of solar module for a Japanese solar power project.

To be developed in Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, the facility will span across 260ha and will have a total generation capacity of 231MW.

Setouchi Future Creations is the manager for the project, which is claimed to be the largest solar energy project in the country and is being developed by Toyo Engineering.

Around 446,000 high efficiency modules of Trina Solar’s TSM-260PC05A variant will be installed at the facility.

Commissioning of the project is expected to be done within the second quarter of 2019.
