Suzlon Group stated that its UK operation will be supplying turbines for new wind farms at Clashindarroch in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, Eye Airfield in Suffolk in the South East of England, Hampole in Yorkshire and Westnewton located in Cumbria.

Located in the Clashindarroch Forest near Huntly, Aberdeenshire, the Clashindarroch Wind Farm is being developed by Vattenfall. The project will feature 18 of REpower’s MM82 turbines. The wind farm, with a total installed capacity of 37MW, will provide enough energy to power approximately 19,580 homes per annum. The construction of the wind farm has already commenced and is scheduled to be completed by March 2015.

Eye Airfield Wind Farm is being developed by the Ventus funds and managed by Temporis Capital. It will consist of two REpower 3.4M104 turbines with a total capacity of 6.8MW, which is enough to power approximately 3,600 homes. The construction work of the wind farm is due to start in November 2013 and will be completed in April 2014.

Hampole Wind Farm, developed by Good Energy, will consist of four MM92 turbines, and represents the first turbine contract to be signed between the two companies. The site will have a total capacity of 8.2MW and is expected to generate nearly 20,000MWh per year, which is enough to power over 4,800 homes. The construction of the wind farm has started and the turbines will arrive in January 2014 and the site is scheduled for completion by July 2014.

The Westnewton Wind Farm, developed by Broadview Energy, is located in
Cumbria between the villages of Aspatria and Westnewton and will consist of three MM82 turbines. The turbines, with a total capacity of 6.15MW, will generate enough electricity to power approximately 3,250 homes. The work at the Westnewton Wind Farm is due to commence this year and will be completed by March 2014.
