NextEra Energy Resources has awarded a delivery order for more than 1.5GW of solar modules to Hanwha Q Cells which will be used for solar power developments in the US.

The module delivery for the subsidiary unit of US-based clean energy producer NextEra Energy has been scheduled to be completed within 2016, starting from the fourth quarter of 2015.

To fulfill the large-scale supply agreement, the German photovoltaic cell manufacturer will deliver the modules from its automated production facilities in Malaysia and Korea.

Hanwha Q Cells is the first manufacturer to commercialise multi c-Si PERC cell in mass production.

Hanwha Q CELLS chief executive officer Seong-woo Nam said:"This supply deal will enable Hanwha Q CELLS to become the market share leader among global manufacturers in two of the three world’s largest solar markets, the U.S. and Japan."

The module will feature Q.ANTUM cell architecture which allows the ordinary crystalline cells to supercharge with surplus sunlight absorption, thus making it better than the standard ones used by the industry.
