BDI – BioEnergy International has signed an agreement to construct a multi-feedstock bio-diesel facility worth over €20m for biom in Croatia.

The facility, which will have a total capacity of around 100,000 tonnes per year, is expected to produce high-quality bio-diesel by the end of 2014.

The BDI multi-feedstock technology will convert unutilized resource potential into high-quality bio-diesel at this facility.

BDI board member Edgar Ahn said that the installed BDI multi-feedstock bio-diesel technology will enable biom to convert many different waste and residual materials into high-quality bio-diesel.

"Thereby, it does not only make an important contribution to environmental protection in the area of transport, but also helps to safely dispose problematic waste streams or even convert them into useful substances,"Ahn added.

"This confirms, that this BDI bio-diesel project is not only for BDI an important and pioneering project in the growing economies of South-East Europe, but in our opinion, for the state of Croatia this is a landmark project."

The agreement was signed by a member of the BDI management board and biom president of the management board.
