Yingli Green Energy Holding has started construction on two ground-mounted PV plants, totalling 25MW, in Hebei Province, China.

Yingli Energy (China), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yingli, will have 100% economic interest in the projects that are situated in Baoding and Xingtai cities of the province.

The total investment in the projects will be more than RMB200m ($33m), of which around 75% will be funded by committed loans from domestic banks and the remaining will be provided by Yingli China.

The projects are expected to be completed and connected to the grid in the third quarter of 2014.

Yingli Green Energy will also provide PV modules for the projects, which will generate around 28,700 MWh of clean power per year.

The projects will have the capacity to offset consumption of 9,300 tons of coal and CO2 emissions by about 28,700 tons over the systems’ 25-year lifetime.

Yingli Green Energy chief financial officer Yiyu Wang said the company is in talks with a potential buyer on sale of the projects to such buyer after their completion.

"These projects will further consolidate our leading position in the industry not only as a PV manufacturer, but also as a solar energy solutions provider," Wang added.

Yingli Green, which includes around 30 regional subsidiaries, has distributed about 9,000MW PV modules to customers globally.
