Nagasaki Tadewara Mega Solar has opened a 13.2MW solar power plant at Tadewara in Nagasaki City of Japan.

Nagasaki Tadewara Mega Solar is half owned by Mitsubishi while Toda owns 40% stake and Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance owns 10% stake.

Construction on the plant was completed on 14 April this year.

The company said that it did minimum filling, excavation and other forms of land modification during the construction of the plant, to reduce impact on the surrounding environment.

Mitsubishi said it used 3D scanners to measure land undulation at the site in order ensure that solar panel alignment is optimised to receive maximum sunlight.

Mitsubishi aims the project to supply of clean energy over the next 20 years.

Mitsubishi said that it has developed eight mega-solar projects in Japan out of which six have started operations which includes the one that has started in Nagasaki.

The company said in a statement : "MC will continue to develop and operate power generation projects, including those that make use of renewable energy, in an effort to contribute to the steady supply of electricity in an environmentally friendly manner."
