Gamesa has secured two new contracts to supply 166MW of wind turbines to Companhia de Energias Renováveis (CER) and 48MW to Eletrosul, a subsidiary of Brazilian electric utility Eletrobras.

Under the agreement with CER, Gamesa will manufacture, supply, transport, installation and commissioning of 83 G97-2.0 wind turbines for the Xique-Xique II wind complex, which is being developed in Bahia state.

"Gamesa will also provide civil works at Assuruá I, Assuruá VI, Capoeiras I, Capoeiras II, Curral de Pedras III and Curral de Pedras IV wind farms in the Xique-Xique II complex being developed in the state of Bahia."

The deal is the second between Gamesa and CER, following the supply of 68MW of turbines at Xique-Xique complex.

Under the second agreement with Eletrosul, Gamesa will supply, transport, install and commission 24 G114-2.0 MW turbines at Coxilha Seca, Capão do Inglês e Galpões wind farms at the Cerro Chato complex in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Located in the city of Santana do Livramento, the Cerro Chato complex features Coxilha Seca and Capão do Inglês e Galpões wind farms.

The deal with Eletrosul marks the first Brazilian order for the G114 2MW turbine, a new model designed to yield more power at lower cost at low and medium wind speed sites.
