Repsol, a Spain-based energy and petrochemical company, plans to develop 943MW of wind power plants in Italy. The company aims to invest $550m (€503.68m) in renewable projects in the country.

In a press release the company revealed that it has a portfolio in the country of 943MW of wind power and 825MW of solar power, of which more than 60% are at an advanced stage of processing. It added that it will soon begin construction of its first two photovoltaic solar plants in Italy, in the Puglia region.

Repsol has an office in Milan to manage operations in Italy, and through the acquisition of several projects and acquisitions has operations in the regions of Basilicata, Lazio, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany and Umbria. Elsewhere in the world, Repsol has major projects active in the US, Chile and Portugal as well as its home market of Spain.
