Description
Trillo 1 is a Generation II nuclear reactor developed by Framatome, the main contractor for the project.
The 1,066MW reactor is operated by Centrales Nucleares Almaraz-Trillo. Iberdrola Generacion Nuclear SAU, Gas Natural Fenosa Generacion SLU, Iberenergia SAU and Nuclenor are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 48%, 34.5%, 15.5% and 2% respectively.
The PWR reactor generates 7,408.21GWh/annum of electricity. It features 177 fuel assemblies in the core of reactor, the place where fission occurs and energy is released.
The reactor consists of 1 steam turbine.

The reactor construction commenced in Aug, 1979 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in Aug, 1988.

Empresarios Agrupados was selected as an architect engineer for the reactor. The reactor system was supplied by Framatome. The reactor vessel have been supplied by Equipos Nucleares SA and Framatome. The material used for the construction of the vessel is Carbon Steel (S20MnMoNi55). The civil works were carried out by Entrecanales y Tavora.
