Description

The project was developed by Sustainable Power Group. Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Alberta Investment Management and The AES are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 49%, 25.5% and 25.5% respectively.

Spotsylvania Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 6,350 acres.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 111,000 households, offsetting 340,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

161 inverters have been installed at the project site.

The project construction commenced in 2019 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in September 2020.

Power purchase agreement

Akamai Technologies, Apple, Microsoft and University of Richmond are the power offtakers from the project.

Contractors involved

M. A. Mortenson and Swinerton Renewable Energy were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

The solar PV modules for the project were supplied by First Solar and Jinko Solar.

Array Technologies and NEXTracker have PV trackers for the project.
