Description
The project was developed by JA Solar Investment China, Phakwe Power and Solar Capital. JA Solar Investment China, Solar Capital, Phakwe Power and Solar Capital Orange Community Trust are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 30%, 30%, 27.5% and 12.5% respectively.
Solar Capital Orange PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 193 hectares.
The project generates 200,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 50,000 households.

The project construction commenced in 2020 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in May 2023.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Eskom Holdings SOC under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 75MW.
