Description

The project is currently owned by Engie with a stake of 30%, Bahwan Engineering, Public Authority for Social Insurance, Shikoku Electric Power and Sojitz.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel. The fuel is procured from The Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Government (MOG).

Development status

The project got commissioned in April 2013.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Oman Power and Water Procurement under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.
