Description
The project is developed and owned by Polaris Energy Nicaragua.
The geothermal plant is of single flash type. The geothermal site has in total 18 number of wells. Out of this 16 are production wells and remaining 8 are injection wells.
The electricitiy generated from the plant has offsetted 63,322t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
Development status
The project got commissioned in January 2012.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to DISNORTE-DISSUR under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $92,000kWh for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 72MW.
