The project is being developed by Redcar Holdings. LOW CARBON GROUP LIMITED and PMAC Energy are currently owning the project.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 100,000 households.

The process of combustion will be adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Refuse which is a kind of municipal solid waste will be used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2024. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2025.
