Description

The project is being developed by Radiant Energy. Cedate, Frontier Investment Management, Interpro International, Paramount Bank and Selenkei Investment are currently owning the project.

Radiant Project Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 301 acres.

The project is expected to generate 74,968,000MWh electricity to offset 53,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2019. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Kenya Power and Lighting under a power purchase agreement at the rate of $0.12kWh.

Contractors involved

Grupotec Servicios Avanzados is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

JinkoSolar Holding will be the supplier of the PV modules for the solar power project. The company is expected to install 140,800 modules at the site.

The project will utilise single axis tracker that are likely to be supplied by Trina Solar.
