Description

The project was developed by Mulilo Prieska PV (RF). Total Solar International, Calulo Investments, Mulilo Renewable Energy, Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa, Futuregrowth Asset Management and Others are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 27%, 25%, 18%, 15%, 10% and 5% respectively.

Prieska-Total Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 209 hectares.

The project generates 210,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 75,000 households.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2015 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in December 2016.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Eskom Holdings SOC under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 75MW.

Contractors involved

juwi and SunPower were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

SunPower was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 200,000 modules each with 440W of nameplate capacity.

SMA Solar Technology supplied its Sunny Central 760 CP XT inverters to the project site.

SunPower is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project.
