Description

The project is being developed by Vineyard Power and Vineyard Wind. Avangrid Renewables and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners KS are currently owning the project.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 750,000 households, to offset 1,600,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project will be spread over an area of 675.28km². The turbines will be mounted on fixed type foundations.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

Power purchase agreement

Eversource Energy, National Grid USA Service and Unitil are expected to be the power offtakers from the project.

Contractors involved

Martha's Vineyard Offshore Wind Alliance (Vineyard Wind I) will be equipped with GE Renewable Energy Haliade-X 13 MW turbines.

Martha's Vineyard Offshore Wind Alliance (Vineyard Wind II) will be equipped with GE Renewable Energy Haliade-X 13 MW turbines.
