Kudankulam 2 is a Generation III+ nuclear reactor developed by Atomstroyexport, the main contractor for the project.

The material used for the construction of the vessel is Alloy Steel. The civil works were carried out by Atomstroyexport, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd and Hindustan Construction.
