Description

The project is being developed by Furukawa Electric, Green Power Ishikari, Kajima, ORIX, Sumitomo Electric Industries and Thai Nippon Steel Engineering & Construction. The project is currently owned by Pattern Energy Group 2 with a stake of 100%.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 83,000 households, to offset 202,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project will be spread over an area of 5km². The turbines will be mounted on fixed jacket foundations and will be interconnected by 66kV inter-array cable.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by December 2023.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Hokkaido Electric Power under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The offtake capacity is expected to be 112MW.

Contractors involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy will be the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company is expected to provide 14 units of SG 8.0-167 DD turbines, each with 8MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the wind power project for a period of 15 years.
