Description

The project is currently owned by Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development.

Baglihar is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 475 million cubic meter. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 3 in number. The penstock diameter is 5.5m. The project generated 4,182 GWh of electricity.

Baglihar (Baglihar Phase - I) is equipped with Andritz Hydro francis turbines. The phase consists of 3 turbines with 150MW nameplate capacity.

Baglihar (Baglihar Phase -II) is equipped with Andritz Hydro francis turbines. The phase consists of 3 turbines with 151MW nameplate capacity.

Voith Hydro Holding supplied 3 electric generators for the Baglihar (Baglihar Phase - I).

Voith Hydro Holding supplied 3 electric generators for the Baglihar (Baglihar Phase -II). The generator capacity is 168 MVA.
