Adrian Hiel works on EU policy and communications at Energy Cities, the European association of cities in energy transition. He is from Canada originally but has spent the last 18 years in Brussels after stints in Ireland, the Netherlands and Russia. Since arriving in Brussels he has mostly been involved in EU affairs as a journalist or lobbyist and spent several years working for one of Europe's largest paper manufacturers. His current focus is on the energy transition and the decarbonisation of domestic and industrial heat.
