Vestas has received an order to provide 28 units of its wind turbines of V100-1.8MW type for a 50.4MW Los Altos wind project which will be located in Jalisco, Mexico.
The 50.4MW Los Altos wind project is predicted to generate 180 GWh of clean energy every year which is equal to displacing 79,200 tonnes of carbon dioxide and providing residential electricity consumption of around 380,000 persons in Mexico.

REM Regeneración Eléctrica Mexicana known as GROUPO DRAGON, a Mexican company, contracted the order to Vestas.
The company as per the contract will deliver, install, and commission the 28 wind turbines and it will also provide a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution.
Vestas Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean general manager Adrian Katzew Corenstein said, "This is the second order signed with GRUPO DRAGON in Mexico within a short period of time, which shows their trust in Vestas’ technology, products, service solutions and local capabilities."
GRUPO DRAGON CEO Luis Montgomery and COO Jose Pablo Fernandez in a joint statement said, "We are very pleased to build our second wind farm with Vestas and we truly believe the V100-1.8 MW Vestas turbines will provide reliable and affordable renewable energy."

The company will deliver the wind turbines in the fourth quarter of 2012 and the completion of the project is expected be achieved in the second quarter of 2013.
