Nordex has secured a contract from wpd europe to deliver and install twelve Generation Delta turbines for a wind farm close to the town of Kalajoki in western Finland. It has also won a 15-year premium service contract.
As a part of the deal, the "Jokela" wind farm with twelve N117/3000 turbines will be constructed from mid 2015.

The turbines have been especially designed for medium wind speeds.
In the wake of complex weather conditions, the company will install cold-climate versions of the turbine.
Each turbine comes with a hub height of 141 metres and an installed nominal output of 3MW.
The wind farm is expected to generate 119 GWh annually.

The previous order for eleven N117/3000 turbines for the Mäkikangas wind farm was placed in early 2014.
wpd country manager responsible for Finland and Sweden Birgit Schneider said: "On the basis of their technical specifications, the N117/3000 turbines are a very good fit for the local weather conditions and we are eagerly awaiting the preliminary results following the start-up of our "Mäkikangas" wind farm."
"We are confident of having found in Nordex a partner for the two wind farms capable of providing an ideal combination of technology and service."
Construction on the Jokela wind farm is expected to start in mid-2015.
