Vestas has won a contract from European Energy to supply wind turbines, to be financed in collaboration with Sampension, to the Ulvemosen project in Varde, Denmark.
Under the contract, Vestas will supply 10 V117-3.3 MW turbines to the project, which is claimed to be the third and largest project in Denmark to use the V117-3.3 MW model.
The Ulvemosen project, which includes a 15-year Active Output Management (AOM) 4000 service contract, will be operated by European Energy.
Delivery and commissioning of the turbines is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Ulvemosen will be Sampension’s first direct investment in wind power plants, with the pension fund financing and owning the project.
European Energy CEO Knud Erik Andersen said, "We value the strong partnership with Vestas, including its high product quality and reliability and the company’s track record for on-time installations. We look forward to getting the V117’s for Ulvemosen up and running later this year."
