Vestas Wind Turbines

 

The DTEK Group has selected Vestas to supply 30 V112-3.0MW wind turbines for its Botievo project located in the coastal area of the Zaporozhye region, near the village of Botievo, Ukraine.

The 30 wind turbines will be installed as part of the initial phase of the project, which is expected to generate 195MW of energy upon completion.

As part of the order, Vestas will supply, install and commission the wind turbines along with VestasOnline Business SCADA system.

Wind Power CEO Guerman Ainbinder said the V112 turbine allows an efficient energy production and gives the company justified
return on investment.

"We have full confidence in the business case of our Botievo project and also in the future of our total wind generation portfolio," Ainbinder added.

Vestas Central Europe president Wolfgang J. Schmitz said Ukraine is a promising wind market with excellent wind resources and the DTEK order is the second one in the country for its V112 turbines.

"We are also proud to provide our experience and quality in being a full-service partner to DTEK Group as we support their vision to further develop Ukraine’s wind energy sector," added Schmitz.

Vestas said the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.

A final service agreement is being negotiated by the companies.

Ukraine-based DTEK Group, an energy division of System Capital Management holding company is a vertically integrated energy firm with a portfolio of coal and electricity generation and sales.

Wind Power, a subsidiary of DTEK Group was founded to develop, construct and operate wind farms in Ukraine.
