Vestas has been selected by Eyra Instalaciones y Servicios to provide turbines for the 16MW Valcaire wind plant in Spain.

The Valcaire wind plant located near Granada will use eight turbines of V100-2.0MW type to produce clean energy.

Vestas Wind Systems chief sales officer and Vestas Mediterranean acting president Juan Araluce said the company has received its first V100-2.0 MW order in Spain.

"With a market-leading track record of the 2 MW platform, best-ever performance and improved grid compliance, the new V100-2.0 MW turbine is in a class of its own – ensuring the best business case certainty for our customers," Araluce added.

Eyra Instalaciones y Servicios general manager José Luis Martínez Dalmau said, "We have been working with Vestas for several years and they have proven to be a strong and reliable technology and service partner, who has been able to support us through the entire process, offering us confidence and business case certainty."

Vestas, under the contract, will deliver, transport, install and commission the wind turbines and also provide the VestasOnline Business SCADA solution as well as a a five-year service and maintenance active output management 4000 agreement

Vestas will deliver the turbines during the second half of 2012 and the wind power plant is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2012.
