Vestas Wind Systems (Vestas) has retained its foremost position as wind turbine installer worldwide for 2014, according to reports published by research and consulting firm Global Data.
The research firm, which compiles a list of top 10 wind turbine manufacturers every year, says that Vestas had over 6,053MW of installed capacity for the year.

Siemens has climbed up to the second place in 2014 from its fifth position in 2013, the report said. The firm, which had been among the top five Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in 2013, had installed 4,990MW in 2014.
Siemens was also the foremost installer across Asian markets.
GE Power & Water held the third position in the 2014 report, with recorded installations of nearly 4,589MW worldwide.
The fifth installer for 2014 is Enercon, which has slipped down from its second position from the previous year. According to the published data, the firm had installed around 3,735MW of wind power globally.

By GlobalDataSuzlon Group (Suzlon), which was among the top five wind power installers in 2013, however dropped to the tenth position in the recent report. The firm had an installed wind capacity of 1,855MW in 2014.
