Suzlon Energy has secured a contract from Cennergi to supply wind turbines for its 138 MW wind energy project, planned to be built in South Africa.
The company will supply 66 of S97-2.1 MW turbines under a full engineering, procurement and construction agreement, once the definitive agreements are signed.

"We are very encouraged by the consistent work being done for the sector and look forward to making significant contribution towards this target." Tanti added.
Cennergi chief executive officer Thomas Garner said "For this bid, Suzlon was an obvious choice based on its vast experience in emerging markets and current participation in the energy sector in South Africa specifically."
Suzlon South Africa chief executive officer Silas Zimu said “This venture shows how a South African Black empowered developer (Cennergi) partnered with a South African Black empowered manufacturer (Suzlon) can ensure that the Government`s commitments on wind energy are realized.“
