GCL Solar Energy has selected Satcon Technology to provide equipment which will be used in the construction of a 76MW solar power plant in the Caribbean.

Satcon will provide 45 of its Equinox 500kW inverters, 64 medium voltage transformers, 680 SSC Smart Subcombiners, and 1900 Satcon Solstice Subcombiners.

Satcon Worldwide Sales, Services and Marketing executive vice president Pete DeGraff said the company has seen demand for solar PV continue to grow in the Americas over the last two years.

"First with commercial systems and most recently in large utility-scale power plants," said DeGraff.

"Satcon’s leading power conversion solutions continue to be deployed by the most respected developers in solar, and we are very proud to have been selected by GCL Energy for this project."
