Quanta Power Generation has received a contract from GCL Solar Energy to provide comprehensive engineering, procurement and construction services for two 70MWac photovoltaic (PV) facilities in California, US.
Quanta Power Generation is a subsidiary of Quanta Services.
GCL-Poly Energy Holdings executive president Shu Hua said, "The Quanta team will play an important role in the development of one of the largest solar tracking facilities in the world."
Quanta signed a contract with SPS Alpaugh 50, a SPE subsidiary of GCL Solar Energy to provide comprehensive design, engineering, procurement and installation for all equipment required for the Alpaugh 50MWac project.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

By GlobalDataQuanta also signed a separate contract with Alpaugh North for the 20MWac Alpaugh North Project, to be complete in October 2012.
Both the facilities span more than 500 acres and will use 324,000 solar tracking modules, provided by GCL Solar Energy.
Quanta Services president and chief executive officer Jim O’Neil said the two solar projects will support the local economy through job creation and generation of clean, renewable power

SPS Alpaugh 50 and Alpaugh North are subsidiaries of SPE subsidiary of GCL Solar Energy.
