Q.CELLS North America has completed two solar photovoltaic (PV) projects cumulatively producing 30MW of alternating current (AC)clean energy for Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) in Central Valley, California.
The company has completed the construction of two solar projects namely the Cantua project generating 20MW of AC, and the Giffen project producing 10MW AC, in Cantua Creek.
PG&E Energy Supply senior vice president John Conway said these new solar facilities generate clean energy for the company’s customers.
"We’re proud that more than half of our electricity comes from sources that are renewable or emit no greenhouse gases," Conway added.
"We applaud the dedicated workers from Q.CELLS who are helping us harness even more clean energy from the sun."
PG&E selected Q.CELLS for the 250MW utility owned generation (UOG) programme and the company completed the two projects under the UOG programme.
