Finland’s Pöyry has secured a detailed design assignment of an undisclosed amount from Kalehan Genç Enerji Üretim for the Lower Kaleköy Hydroelectric Power Plant and Dam in Turkey.
Under the deal, Pöyry will implement the detail design for the civil engineering of the powerhouse, and structural reviews, including the roller-compacted concrete (RCC) dam, power intake and penstocks, piano-key weir spillway solution, diversion structures with two tunnels and bottom outlet.

Pöyry Energy Business Group regional director Ernst Zeller said: "We are proud to be working on this landmark project.

The project is part of four projects at the Beyhan and Kaleköy cascade, which are being developed by the same private investors in Turkey.
The installed capacity of the Lower Kaleköy plant will have an installed capacity of 500 MW with an annual output of around 1200GWh.

In 2011, Poyry was awarded a €2.9m contract by Kalehan Enerji Üretim to provide their detailed design services for the Beyhan 1 hydro electric power plant and dam in Turkey.
