The upgrade was completed in early May 2012 and was financed by Florida Opportunity Fund’s (FOF) Clean Energy Investment Program which provided $4.5m.
LS9 President and CEO Ed Dineen said the company has worked to complete the retrofit of the facility and appreciates the support of the Florida Opportunity Fund.
"Our Florida location is ideal as it allows for prime access to the feedstocks required to produce our renewable products," said Dineen.
LS9 said the facility will be used to increase the company production capability and to generate large commercial samples for testing and product qualification and to test and optimise new process conditions.
