LG Electronics subsidiary LG Solar has introduced the MonoX NeoN Premium series solar modules in the US at the Solar Power International 2012 conference.
The MonoX NeoN modules weigh lighter than the previous models by 11.1% at 16.8kg. They follow the MonoX module 60-cell panel design. MonoX was unveiled at the same event in 2011.
The latest modules have a higher output of 300W, against 260W of MonoX, with 18.3% module efficiency.
The MonoX NeoN Premium series make use of LG’s N-Type cell manufacturing technology. Selective emitter and fine electrode technologies and anti-reflection coating technology have also been installed in them.
LG Electronics USA senior vice president James Lee said that the growing solar industry has a need to overcome the barriers of space constraints and installation costs.
"At LG, we are meeting this challenge in our research and development laboratories where we are developing high-efficiency solar modules that have the same durability and size as existing modules, but that yield a higher wattage than any other module available on the U.S. market and are significantly easier to install." Lee said.
