
Gehrlicher Solar has constructed and grid connected a 35MW solar park located between Hamburg and Berlin on the grounds of the former military airport.
The solar park consists of about 144,144 modules, 39 inverters, and 500km of cable to produce approximately 33 million kilowatt hours of clean energy that can meet the electricity needs of about 9,300 house-holds with three members and displace around 32,000 tons of CO2 annually.

Gehrlicher Solar also constructed an expandable 110kV transformer station to connect the project to the grid.
Gehrlicher Solar CEO Klaus Gehrlicher said the company thanks the Perleberg city policy makers and Prignitz dristrict’s authorities in charge, such as the Perleberg building authority, for the development of the project.
"In addition, we would also like to thank the two former property owners, the Brandenburg Land Association for Land Use and Management (Brandenburgische Boden Gesellschaft für Grundstücksverwaltung und -verwertung mbH (BBG)) and the Federal Agency for Real Estate Management (Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA)), as well as the Aero-Club Perleberg e.V. for their excellent cooperation at all times," Gehrlicher added.
Yingli manufactured and supplied solar modules for the project whereas SMA provided the inverters.
