In addition to conducting necessary civil engineering work, the company will provide the facility’s operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a period of 15 years, as part of the contract.

Scheduled for delivery during the third quarter of 2014, the wind turbines will be manufactured at Gamesa’s local Camaçari factory while the facility is due to be commissioned during the first quarter of 2015.

Gamesa South Cone managing director Edgard Corrochano said, "This new contract consolidates Gamesa as one of the leading turbine makers in Brazil, a position underpinned by the combination of our global technological prowess with local know-how, coupled with our commitment to community development, creating jobs and generating wealth through local supply chain development."

The latest contract, which brings Gamesa’s total orders in Brazil to over 1,400MW, is the second between Gamesa and Eolicas do Sul following a contract at the end of 2012 for 258MW of turbines at 10 wind farms in Brazil.
