Enel Green Power North America (EGP NA), US subsidiary of Enel Green Power has commenced operations at the 150MW wind farm, the Rocky Ridge in the state of Oklahoma.

The Rocky Ridge project located in Kiowa and Washita counties consists of 93 wind turbines each with a generating capcity of 1.6MW.

EGP NA reached a tax equity partnership agreement with JP Morgan led syndicate for about $340m for Rocky Ridge and Caney River wind farms.

Enel Green Power CEO Francesco Starace said with Rocky Ridge, the company continues its solid growth in the US, which has one of the most open and competitive markets in the world.

"Such an achievement demonstrates our consolidated capacity to execute important investments quickly and with satisfactory returns," Starace added.

Western Farmers Electric Cooperative, a local utility will be buying all the electricity generated from the wind farm.

The wind project is expected to produce 600 million kilo watt hour per year of clean energy once it reaches its full operating capacity and avoid 450 thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide emission every year.

Rocky Ridge is built on over 18,000 acres of leased land.

EGP NA operates and manages more than 70 hydroelectric, wind, geothermal, solar and biomass plants; Enel Green Power dedicated to the development and management of renewable energy sources.
