The company said that V2G infrastructure will allow the charge to flow in two directions, from grid to vehicle and vehicle to grid.

The new charging point includes V2H (vehicle to home) technology, which is expected to allow users in deciding, whether to consume the electricity stored in their electric vehicle, power their home or sell back the surplus to the grid.

According to the company, V2G technology will help in developing smartgrids, which will improve the supply and demand balance between electricity producers and consumers.

The new infrastructure was showcased at the CHAdeMO (Charge and Move) association’s trade fair, which is currently taking place in Barcelona.

The CHAdeMO intends to expand the installation of fast charge points worldwide and set the global charge standard.

Currently there are around 3,000 CHAdeMo fast-charge points, of which more than 900 are installed in Europe, and the number is expected to increase to 1,000 by the end of 2013.

Endesa and Enel are two of the five European companies representing the European electricity sector in the association, while the others include Irish company ESB, Germany’s E.ON and EDP of Portugal.
