EDF Renewable Services, a US-based services group for renewable projects, was contracted by Detroit Edison to extend multiyear operations and maintenance services at two wind projects in Michigan.
With a combined capacity of 222.4MW of wind power, the 110.4 MW Thumb Wind Project and the 112 MW Echo Wind Project are located in Huron and Sanilac counties.

The projects comprise 1.6 MW turbines from General Electric (GE).
Under the transaction terms, EDF will offer selected O&M for the turbines and balance of plant, project oversight and continuous remote monitoring from its NERC compliant Operations Control Center.
EDF business development director Dalen Copeland said that the company is committed to expanding the Detroit Edison portfolio.

DTE Energy Renewables program manager Tom Komjathy revealed that the partnership with EDF will continue as DTE expands the wind portion of its renewable energy portfolio.
"The two wind projects in the Thumb show we’re making great progress toward meeting the state’s renewable energy goals," Komjathy said.
