Tokyo-based Pacifico Energy has begun development of 55MW (DC) Minami Mega Solar Power Plant in Japan’s Gujo City.

The facility will be developed on the site of a golf course in Gifu Prefecture.

Operations will commence in July 2019, following a 17-month construction period.

Once the plant is commissioned, it is expected to annually produce around 55 million kilowatt hours of power, which will offset approximately 30,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

Chubu Electric Power will buy the power produced by the facility.

Toyo Engineering will offer engineering, procurement and construction services.
