Yingli Green Energy has delivered 10MW of monocrystalline silicon modules to Kingspan Energy, part of the Kingspan Group.
The 5.8MW of these PANDA Series modules has been deployed on the rooftop of a new facility of a multinational automotive company located in the Midlands, UK.
Kingspan Energy Business Unit Manager Peter Turley said, "This project serves as another milestone in developing our relationship with Yingli Green Energy, a global leader in renewable energy solutions."
The 5.8MW system is claimed to be the the largest rooftop solar project in the UK.
With coverage of approximately 35,000 square metres, the solar system will generate about 5.5MWh of electricity per year which is enough to power 1,500 homes.
Yingli Green Energy Business Development Director UK Ramin Dilmaghanian said, "We believe that demand for large-scale rooftop projects with a self-consumption model will, in the coming months, continue to provide a stable backbone for the UK market."

Yingli Green Energy chairman and chief executive officer Liansheng Miao said Yingli Green Energy will strengthen its position in sustainable market through cooperation with key partners such as Kingspan Energy.
"The UK solar market has seen significant growth due to stable funding mechanisms such as the solar Feed-In Tariff scheme and the Renewables Obligation which is the main support mechanism for renewable electricity projects in the UK," Miao added.
