US-based solar solutions provider Vivint Solar has completed acquisition of Solmetric Corporation that manufactures photovoltaic (PV)installation instruments and software products.
Following the transaction, Solmetric has now become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vivint Solar.

Vivint Solar CEO Greg Butterfield said the company welcomes the executives, engineers and all other employees of Solmetric.
“The Solmetric team has developed industry-dominant SunEye hardware and PV Designer software product lines that have maintained an impressive, satisfied customer base,” Butterfield added.
“Further in-house, advanced development of Solmetric products will help strengthen our pre-installation site assessment and CAD design process even further at this crucial market expansion time for Vivint Solar.”
Solmetric provides test and measurement instruments that help solar installation firms deliver accurate solar energy assessments during the pre-install process as well as accurate performance testing during commissioning and O&M.

By GlobalDataHandheld electronic tool SunEye, PV Designer software and PV Analyzer products will be further developed to serve existing Solmetric customer base.
Solmetric president and CEO Willard MacDonald said, “As part of Vivint Solar, we plan to continue to enhance our existing products line and develop even more offerings to benefit the entire industry and enable us all to install faster, low-cost and higher quality solar.”
Even after the transaction, all Solmetric employees will continue to be based in Sebastopol, California, and all existing sales contracts, distribution partnerships and product availability will continue under the Solmetric brand.
