China-based Trina Solar has delivered 28.5MW of solar modules for large-scale projects in the UK.

Sustainable Power Group (sPower) and Camborne Capital have bought the panels, which are expected to be installed before a 31 March 2015 deadline to qualify for renewable obligation certificates.

The projects will employ 105,560 units of Trina Solar’s 270W monocrystalline Honey M solar photovoltaic modules.

Trina Solar Europe and Africa president Ben Hill said: "We are pleased that our superior products and services have led to our selection by Camborne Capital and sPower.

"Our financial strength and industry leading sustainability credentials are always critical elements in such long-term investment decisions. We very much look forward to our continued partnership with sPower and Camborne Capital."

Camborne Capital CEO Declan Mackle said: "This is a significant milestone for Camborne and sPower as we move to the construction phase of the first nearly 30MW of projects.
