Senvion has secured a contract from Ancora Wind – Energia Eolica to deliver 171.6MW of turbines for five wind farms in Portugal.
Scope of the contract includes the delivery and installation of 84 turbines at the Moimenta I and II, Picos Vale do Chão, Três Marcos and Sernancelhe wind farms.
Senvion will supply 21 units of MM92 turbines each to the Moimenta I and II farms, 11 MM92 units to the Picos Vale do Chao project.
The company will deliver 19 MM92 turbines to the Tres Marcos plant and 12 MM100 units to the Sernancelhe wind farm.
The projects, which are being sponsored by Galp Energia, Martifer and Ferrostaal, form part of a tender from the Portuguese government for a total of 400MW from 2006.
Construction of the Moimenta I and II and the Picos Vale do Chão wind farms is due to commence in early 2015.

The contract also includes a 20-year servicing agreement for maintaining the plants.
Senvion South West Europe managing director Olivier Perot said: "We have made major industrial investments in Portugal since 2008, with the creation of a blade manufacturing site in Vagos and a nacelle assembly site in Oliveira de Frades.
"The Âncora project is a result of this whole tender programme. It will also cover the local sourcing of towers, electrical components, civil works and electrical works."
