The project will source Ontario-made products, comprising 140 wind turbine towers from Windsor and blades manufactured in Tillsonburg.

With a capacity to produce clean power for around 100,000 Ontario homes each year, the project will become operational in the second half of 2015.

It is third such project in Ontario and brings total wind energy capacity in the province to 690MW.

Pattern Development CEO Mike Garland said, "K2 embodies Pattern Development’s continued commitment to delivering world-class projects in a responsible way and is particularly exciting because we are hiring locally and using blades and towers made here in Ontario."
