Solar project developer Recurrent Energy has started commercial operation of its six solar photovoltaic (PV) projects totaling 106MWp/88MWAC in Southern California and Arizona.
The solar projects, five of which are located in Southern California and one in Arizona, will produce enough electricity to power over 17,000 homes in US.

According to the company, these projects will provide electricity to three offtakers, including Southern California Edison.
Of the total six solar projects, four are located at Kern County in California and one is located in the City of Adelanto, California, while the sixth one is located in Maricopa County, Arizona.
These solar PV projects have created more than 500 jobs during the construction period, said the company.
Recurrent Energy has developed 5MWp Rio Grande project, which is said to be smallest in all its six solar PV projects, acquired by Google and KKR in November 2013.

Recurrent Energy COO Sheldon Kimber said the company received major support from county officials, the local communities, wildlife agencies and power utilities in the development of solar PV projects.
"Working with these key stakeholders where these projects are sited helps move us into a new era of clean and affordable power," Kimber added.
