Nordex has received three contracts for a total of 44.4MW in Turkey, expanding its business in the important growth market.

Under the first contract, Nordex will provide six Generation Delta N117/3000 wind turbines for the Urla wind farm in Izmir.

Nordex will develop the towers and rotor blades in Turkey.

As part of the second contract awarded by Yeni Enerji, Nordex will supply nine Generation Gamma N117/2400 turbines for the Yenihisar wind farm.

The 21.6MW Yenihisar wind farm is being installed close to the town of Aydin on the south coast of Turkey while the all the tubular steel towers are sourced locally.

Bicakcilar Enerji has selected Nordex to provide two N117/2400 turbines for the Pitane wind farm in the Izmir region.

The wind farm is expected to reach a capacity factor of around 40% with an average annual wind speed of 7.4 m/s at the site.

Nordex is scheduled to implement all the projects between spring and summer 2015 and all three projects will be eligible for higher feed-in tariffs.

The local sourcing of rotors and towers will allow for higher feed-in tariffs with the rate of 7.3 US cents per kWh topped up with an additional 1.4 US cent per kWh.
