Martifer Solar, a business unit of Martifer SGPS, and Gauss Energía have commissioned a new solar power plant in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
The 39MWp grid-connected Aura solar project, which was built for Gauss Energía, was funded by a local development bank Nafin, International Finance (IFC) and Corporación Aura Solar.
In addition to engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities at the plant, Martifer Solar will also be responsible for its operation and maintenance services.
The plant, which can supply power to more than 160,000 inhabitants, has over 132,000 solar PV panels installed in ground-mounted structures with single-axis solar trackers.
Martifer Solar Mexico country manager Álvaro del Río García said the conclusion of this plant gives the company a leading position in the region.
"We are very proud about the end-result of this project that will provide green energy to many Mexican families," added García.
