Solar energy plants developer and operator Lightsource Renewable Energy has acquired project rights from solar and wind energy provider TGC Renewables in the UK.

With the acquisition of the project located on approximately 15 acres of low-grade agricultural land at Wheal Alfred Road in Cornwall, Lightsource has completed its 80th solar farm project in the country.

The installation of the project will be completed by Martifer Solar, a provider of engineering, procurement and construction, and operation and maintenance services.

According to the Lightsource, the new project will join the 300MWP operational portfolio that currently produces green electricity to power more than 100,000 UK households.

Lightsource managing director Kareen Boutonnat noted the developers interest in selling their sites or project rights to the company.

"We close deals quicker than any of our competitors because of our full service capability in-house and we are looking to double our operational portfolio in the next year," Kareen added.
